High School Counselor's Corner

Mrs. Livingston

Summer School: Students needing to make up high school credit might want to check out the summer courses offered at Waubonsee Community College. To download a registration  form and learn more about the programs, visit www.waubonsee.edu or call 630-466-7900, ext. 2360. June 14th is the registration deadline. See Mrs. Livingston for additional credit recovery options through American School.

Articulated Credit: Graduating seniors wishing to receive college credit for an IVVC program or Ag class must first complete a College Credit Articulation Form. The form will be sent to CALEES with an official high school transcript for approval. Students will later receive credit on the college transcript . Interested seniors should see Mrs. Livingston.

Career Cruising:  As the school year comes to an end, it would be a good time to update your Career Cruising Portfolio. High School students can add all of this year’s extracurricular activities, awards, work experience, etc. Go to www.careercruising.com. See Mrs. Livingston if you don't remember your portfolio username and password.

Summer College/Career Activities: Summer is a great time to investigate careers and colleges. Use Career Cruising to do some research in both of these areas. If you and your family take a vacation and are in the area of a college or university, drive through campus. This will give you that first impression which will possibly lead you to investigate that school further. Juniors, visit 4-year colleges and request to meet with a professor in your intended major. I look forward to you sharing your summer college research experience with me  during your senior interview/planning conference in September.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Livingston
